Pilates was pioneered by the late Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century. Pilates exercises focus on building the body's core strength and improving posture. Your "core muscles" are the deep muscles of the spine, abdominals and pelvis. Like the foundations of a building or the roots of a tree, these muscles provide strength and support for your entire body.
There are countless benefits to practicing Pilates. To name just a few....
- Longer leaner muscles
- Improved posture
- Improve fitness levels
- Can help relieve back pain
- Improve your balance, co-ordination, flexibility and mobility
- Increase your strength and stamina without adding bulk
- Heightened body awareness
In the words of Mr Joseph Pilates himself...
“In 10 sessions you will feel the difference, in 20 you will see the difference, in 30 you will have a whole new body"
